Tiberius Veturius Barrus

This coin breaks a 75 year tradition of denarius coin types. Until this coin, Roma was on the obverse. The reverse was used earlier (216 - 217 BC) on gold coins.

Anonymous Quadrigatus Didrachm

Crawford assigns seven numbers to anonymous didrachms with Laureate, Janiform heads of the Discouri on the obverse and a reverse showing Jupiter & Victory in quadriga, Victory driving, Jupiter throwing lightning bolt with R hand & holding staff in L. In Ex - ROMA. I can not tell which Crawford number to assign to this coin. Artemide Aste s.r.l. called the coin Cr28/3. My next post will be a coin attributed by Freeman and Sear as RVC 33 (or Cr28/3).
